    Who's RO now Dan?

From the website (don't shoot the messenger):

"Up to the end of 2013 our region had been run for over 19 years by Mandy Carle. We have all enjoyed the friendships and camaraderie that Mandy has generated within the club but there did not seem to be anyone within the regular attendees who had the time and energy to take over the role of RO in the short term. As a result a few of us got together to see how we could keep up the momentum and the decision was taken to form a small committee and share out the workload between us and the Region 29 committee was born.

The committee members are:- Mike Lucas, committee chairman; Keith Morgan, PCGB liaison/committee contact; Brenda Wareham, events organiser; Marion Blackmore, treasurer"

    Hi,

I am a newbie, just joined for about a month. I lived in Fleet Hampshire and was told that the R29 Surrey register is the nearest for me. Is joining the club night the first step to getting to know the other members ? ANd could someone please tell me what normally takes place in the Club nights ?? This might sound really stupid to some of you.

    Cheers,
    Arthur

Hi Arthur, I'm a newbie too, joined a couple of months back but haven't got round to making the meeting. Should be there this month to introduce myself and the new toy (1987 3.2 carrera targa) so if you come down you won't be the only newbie there. Looking forward to meeting all at R29!

    Cheers, Dave

    Where is my mind?

In reply to Melv, I'm not formally part of the committee but do web/forum updates. I've been a bit remiss recently in terms of forum monitoring - I hope to meet new joiners at the next club night.

Those in R29 and the environs might want to look at the latest list of events, which are now indicative of what's happening during the rest of the year. Dan S.

Just a quick heads up to you Surrey guys ...... OPC Bylfeet have a free service clinic on the 4th of October. This was originally open to just owners of Turbos and Targas but as they have a few slots left this has now been extended to all Porsche models: (See original ad below).

We will be holding a complimentary Service Clinic on Saturday 4 October, between 10am and 3pm here within our Centre. On the day we will be celebrating ‘40 years of Turbo’, four decades since the introduction of the first Porsche production car equipped with a turbo engine arrived back in 1974, as well as the relaunch of the iconic 911 Targa model earlier this year.

By appointment, our qualified Porsche trained technicians will be carrying out complimentary vehicle health checks on all Porsche models, both new and classic. During the inspection, which includes checks on brakes, tyres, lights and levels, you may join the Technician to discuss your vehicle and ask any questions you may have about your Porsche.

As part of the health check, all customers will receive their own complimentary Certificate of Authenticity*. This unique document can prove to be invaluable for restoration, resale and for displaying your Porsche at official Porsche events.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to enter our prize draw with the chance to win a Limited Edition: Turbo Enamel Wall Calendar from our Porsche Driver’s Selection range.

All complimentary health checks must be booked prior to the event and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. With a limited number of places available I would advise you contact a member of our After-sales Team at your earliest convenience on 01483 421 911 or email us.

*Certificates will be issued to all customers by 18 October and sent to you by post.
