Feel free to post tips to help other club members. Post anything from cleaning to bore homing but keep it about the car i.e. not about insurance or how to avoid a speeding penalty.

Mindful of what you've just said, can I suggest that some sort of section is set up for this kind of post. I found it a really useful part of getting started as a 911SC owner to be able to speak to other members who were willing to help with insurance advice etc. A good example of needing help with advice would be my current situation. I've been told that I need wheel alignment, tracking and camber adjustments done. I also need some rust treatment done. It's a crooked world out there and there's not many places to get good solid recommendations from people who've had similar work done available outside the forum. I'm sure I'm not alone in needing all the help I can get on this type of thing from other members.

I looked in the listings on the site but to be honest it's a little thin on the ground...

Many thanks
Alex Culpin

Hi Alex , I'm afraid the SC Register is rapidly becoming the 'Dead Zone' as more members defect elsewhere, however I intend to be around for awhile yet so if you want to bring your car over to Enfield I can have a look at the corrosion for you and point you in the direction of a few places, looking outside of London will get you more sensible prices but you have to factor in travelling with its present increased costs.

Where are you based? I'm in West london. There is a good value and quality repairer in Stamford Brook. who I would recomend. Let me know if you want their details.

Cheers

Hi,

sure, that would be useful. I have no gripes about Chelsea Carrera they always seem good but it's always useful to have alternatives/comparisons. The main thing I'm trying to get hold of is the right touch up pen for my car's colour, the Porsche centres don't seem to wanna know...!

Many thanks
Alex

I use:
Xavier Auto Clinic
167 Stamford Brook Arches
Hammersmith
London W5 0TQ

Ph 020 8741 2251

Ask for either Phil or Mike and say I (Carrick) said to call.

This reminds me I need to drop my baby in for the A/C to be sorted.
Cheers

Hi Alex , thanks for the email but the one I sent back was returned with the explanation that you don't exist!
The only source for touch up paints I know are OPCs but you can do better than a touch up stick if you take the paint code to a company like Morelli's in Enfield. They will make you a large aerosol while you wait for less then a tenner, you can choose to spray it or paint it on then with a small paint brush

Get yourself onto the "Impact Bumpers" forum, there's a wealth of expertise on there, endless advice from enthusiasts who have been there, done that etc.
You could do worse than ask if anyone knows a good SC for sale.
Good luck!
