New Venue for R29 Surrey Club Nights

Please note that from July 12 2011 the Surrey club nights will be at The Star, Kingston Road, Malden Rushett, Surrey KT22 0DP.

The star is close to the M25 Junction 9 and is on the left hand side going towards Chessington World Of Adventures.

The Star provides good parking, good food and has very helpful staff.

When parking, please do not park in the marked bays - the area reserved for Porsche Club Surrey Region is around the outside of the car park.

We have also been given a room for our meetings which is located on the left hand side as you walk into the pub.

Were there too many motorbikes and Fords at the other place

    It's true that the turbo'd capris weren't Mandy's favourites.

However, The Fairmile is closing for renovation having been sold by Punch pubs. I understand that it's 'going up-market' and'll become a Chef and Brewer and that because they'll be up-market they're not sure that car clubs fit in with their desired new image - hilarious!.

Dan How did you find this out if you dont mind me asking

We have the 911UK meets there on 3rd Wednesdays for a year or so now ,also  Sundeep and I thought it was not fair to impose on your club night any more with the numbers we had turning up

    Guys,

This pub has a massive motorsport heritage. Bernie E used to hold court in the pub most lunchtimes when he was in the UK (Brabham were up the road in the business park), some of the amazing deals of that period were done in that Pub.

    I might even come along.

    Regards

Mandy was told by the current management earlier in the year that they'd be refurbishing. It was about two months ago that they actually decided exactly when they'd close and that we'd not be welcome back. I reckon they'll totally change the place and the room that we've used will get subsumed into the rest of the place.

Perhaps the regulars could put an offer in for their favourite tables?
