Thanks Peter.
I've had a good look around www.carsandclassics.co.uk and agree with you that it has a very good search engine. I put in a few key words and it came back with nine 964s. That's given me a much better understanding of potential prices.
Thanks for your suggestion.
Peter.

Hello Neighbour ^^^^

My wife said she'd seen yours for sale, coincidence time, mines being prepared for collecting cars at the moment...

Any reason you chose Classic over CC? mines going with a reserve, so if it doesn't meet my expectations, no sale.

Hi Kevin. Classic was recommended by others who had a good experience using this route. I'd be interested to know how you get on via CC - good luck.

Hi Peter

hows the listing going?

Mines currently on the waiting list to be placed on CC, it’s been an interesting journey so far. 2 1/2 + hours just to photograph her for sale, then CC decide on the wording, some small amendments; then we wait to see at what time they list.
im guessing it’s down to variety on their site to keep interested parties coming back..

anyhoo, this is mine here waiting to be listed, hope you don’t mind..

I think it's worth more than £20K

A bit mixed really, it’s a reasonable price, but I’d hoped for a bit more given the upgrades which were done.
tastes aside on the interior; the performance upgrades are all genuine Porsche items, so reasonable in value.
£55k was my original target, in some way I guess you could say happy ish

Did you get any offers from dealers?  I'd guess that at least a few thousand more than you'd have got from a dealer.

I had a previous offer of close to the sale price from a semi-dealer not a large named one.
reality is, the market has spoken, I don’t think a dealer would have offered much above 42/3
CC were reluctant to go with my reserve price; but we eventually compromised, and to be fair it’s not been a bad experience, just nerve wracking.

My ST backdate project is nearing completion within the next couple of months, meaning that I'm bracing myself to sell my 1990 C2 manual Targa which I've owned and restored over the last five years. IMHO probably one of the best 964s out there having benefitted from £31K of sympathetically completed restoration work retaining as much original equipment as possible. The rebuilt (top and bottom end) Redtek motor has been recently dyno'd at 291 hp and is turbine smooth making this a very quick 964.
The car has just completed the NW 500 last week (1,657 miles in seven days) with no dramas and is good to go.
I'm afraid it's not going to be cheap, but if anyone is interested in one of the best 964s available then message me through the club.

Hi I have my guards red 964 (C2) RS ‘homage’ up on Pistonheads and the club classifieds if anyone is interested.  Very tidy car with masses spent on it on the last 20 years.

I withdrew my Targa from a sale last year as my ST project car had taken a long delay and finally arrived about a month ago. Since my last post (see above) the car has completed a tour through France, Belgium, Germany and Holland this spring with no problems. I need some more garage space and will now reluctantly sell the car for the right offer.  Please contact me through the club if interested.
