Hi Dave
Looking for a good 964 C2 Coupe or Targa, do you have a list of cars for sale?
Thanks
Joe

have you looked at RPM Technik?  They had two last time i looked... high miles though for fairly high money.

i am flirting with selling mine... but i am unsure.  its a 63k mile 5 owner C2 Coupe in better condition than any other 'original' car i have seen.  It won PCGB R24 concourse comp in 2014 and was in the parade at the Hedingham Classics at the Castle event in Sep 2015 so if you were there you may have seen and heard :-) it.  It has a full documented and receipted history and all MOTs along with an excel file listing pretty much every nut and bolt  for the past 25 years.  It's the real deal.

good luck with your search...

Thank you for your reply, I will look at the ones at RPM, I am currently in no rush to buy (got the funds but not the time to drive one), so if you do decide to sell your car then please get back to me as it sounds similar to what I am looking for.

Hi Joe, that targa was for sale back in March, I don't know if it ever sold but I would be very surprised if it's still around. If I can find the owner's contact details I'll drop her a line but I wouldn't hold out too much hope.

Neither me or David has a list of cars for sale these days as they generally don't hang around long. So you're doing the right thing to do a 'wanted' post as that's the best way to tempt someone to sell. People are really keen these days....only last week someone saw me out in mine and came and asked me if I would sell it!

If you fancy a cab, this one is in our for sale section:

Hi all,
I am the new owner of the 964 targa in question, it has been subject to a 15k overhaul at RPM, it will be for sale again soon as I have been very fortunate to secure a slot for a new boxter spyder, and need the funds for my new purchase.
please contact Neil Armitage on 07793578953 for further details.

If anyone wants a top drawer C2 Coupe manual then pm me and I will forward photos and a detailed history.  It will be at the top end of the 964 price spread as it has 63k miles, 5 owners from new.  FSH (19 stamps, 15 Porsche Stamps and 4 indy stamps), leakdown and compression tests showing 7-8% loss and 200+ PSI signal a very strong engine, a rust free body and immaculate 'almost as new' original interior.  A number of dealers have offered mid-high 40s to buy it for stock.  More as an SOR/brokered sale.  If you fancy learning more pls pm me.

Re: RE: 964s for sale 2015/12/04 14:03:56 (permalink)
My car and I parted today.  I crafted the text below for another forum...

It’s a Keeper!  For Someone new…

“It’s a keeper!”  I thought when I bought it in September 2013.

“It’s a keeper!”  Said my Porsche Indy when he first saw it.

It certainly was a keeper for owner #3 who had it 11 years and owner #4 who had it 9 years.  But as keeper #5 with 40 cars in my vehicle history I don’t have a good track record for keeping them that long.  My mind wanders… and so today my gorgeous 964 C2 Coupe has gone to its new home where I trust it will indeed again be a keeper.

A true enthusiast has bought it.  He said it just fitted him when he test drove it.  I wish them both many happy years and fun miles.

Through my two-and-a-bit years of ownership I have made new friends, enjoyed a bunch of events, won a regional PCGB concourse competition, driven it in the parade at Hedingham Castle, and bonded ever more strongly with my little petrol head daughter who has co-piloted on our many mini road trips.

For me cars are not always ‘keepers for life’ – life’s needs and desires change.  For me however, memories are for keeps and every one of my cars has been a marvellous memory maker.  In fact I still have superb memories associated with my dad’s cars when I was a child and I know I have recorded many superb memories with my little co-pilot in our cars.

So fare thee well fine 964 pals.

Fear not, I’ll not be straying very far.

With a little luck I’ll be bimbling about in another neunelfer within a week or two.  It’ll have a 3.8 engine out back with some forced induction.  Deposit is paid and inspection is pending.  I’ll post pics and deets in due course.

Cheers!

Postscript: I drafted the above in anticipation of completing the sale this morning and sure enough the car has now gone.  It looked resplendent in the morning sun and sounded amazing as it drove off.  What a stunning car.  So pleased to have enjoyed it for the time I had custody.  Still feel a little sad now as I contemplate its passing.  Think I need to remove the pics from my PC desktop – it’s like torture watching it on my screen :-(

Hi Steve,

No.  But they did respond privately after seeing this thread and they are an active PCGB member.  Its a proper enthusiast who will take the very best care of the car.

And, i should say they were very good to deal with.  Straight forwards stand-up chap.

Cheers

Just wanted to say Hi as the new custodian of the red 964 C2.

Dont hold my username against me, it was a long time ago:)

Once I saw the car and its history and the lavish treatment that Joe had given it, then I think it was "meant to be"…couldn't bear to see the car put in a container to the East (and I dont mean Norfolk) or go to a trophy collector.

In all, a good advert for the "power" of the forums...

Ill register over the next few weeks Steve and look forward to contributing!
