Hi,

I have owned this 1988 Model year 924S since June.

It's an interesting car, the plate is E924 FLB and it was the AFN demonstrator for 1988 being registered in September 1987 with that plate. It has some nice extras, like the Le Mans 1988 limited Edition suspension upgrade of lowered adjustable suspension with larger anti-roll bars which are codes are C48 G55 and G56. It also has split rear seats, and the different rear luggage cover to work with the split in the seats. Original stereo still there and various other nice touches like pinstripe door cards.

I love it and its reliable and fast. What's not to love?

I have been so impressed with it. Can't think I'd ever want to part with it.

Just joined the club!
I have a lovely Porsche 924 auto that my father and I took down to Le Mans a couple of years ago. Currently SORN over Winter but will be getting it back on the road as the weather warms up..

Have done a fair bit of work on it since buying it in a bit of a state a few years ago. Most noticeably, fitting a less cracked dash, re-fitting the entire interior and retro-fitting some very comfortable 986 Boxster seats in! Welcome along and great looking 924 - I'd be interested to know about your experience of fitting the boxster seats in. At some point in its life mine has a different set of seats fitted which are the wrong colour and Boxster seats in a closer match (Sahara beige) come along on ebay frequently so be good to know how much work is involved in the fitment.

thanks

Yeah that's exactly why I decided to fit them into my 924. My Tombstone seats had given up the ghost and to replace / completely re-upholster them would have been incredibly expensive.

It wasn't a huge job.. basically just drilled a few holes into the existing runners of the 924 and fitted the 986 ones on top of them, bolting them in place securely. Still got the functionality of the original runners (front and back), although I've not hooked up the electrics of the seats so have fixed them into a comfortable angle. On my to do list and would be pretty cool to have fully functioning electric Boxster seats! I'll take a few pictures when I'm back up next weekend of what I've done.

Good afternoon all.   I am a first time Porsche owner. Mine is a White 1988 924S  It's the Lemans limited addition model.
I believe they are getting a little rare.  She has only done 65K from new with a huge pile of history. I have done the usual cam belt
and balance belt along with a few other bits with only a small paint job needed and its done! Hope to Join a Porsche meet real soon.

Just got my 924S Lemans on the road, it hadn’t been on the road for 7 years when I bought it, replaced loads of bits including belts, shockers, brakes, bushes, wishbones, fuel pipe, fuel pump, filters .....
924srr27l, did me some great powder coating, thanks. Now just need paint work tidying, seats and interior sorting out.

Hi all. Recognise some names from other corners of the internet.

I’m lucky enough to have 3 924, 1980 NA and Le Mans and a 1981 turbo.

The Le Mans is completed (apart from sourcing original radio - any tips?) and on the road but the other two are works in (slow) progress.

Cheers Mark

Hi all. My name is Gary Welsby and I bought my very first Porsche in 1990, a stunning 924S (black with black leather) C95DUV. A few days before I got it, I dumped an equally stunning blonde girlfriend I had at the the time (we all make mistakes) and went out and bought the Porsche ... Several Porsches later, Boxsters, 718 Cayman, 911 3.2 Carrera, 718 GT4 (currently for sale) and a new GT4 that's due around September, I decided to go on the search for another 924S in an attempt to relive my 20's. After searching on and off I spotted a 924 Turbo for sale which had been fully restored in 2014 by my favourite OPC, Porsche Bolton. Upon viewing the car I had to buy it. So there it is, I'm now the very proud owner of the closest thing I can get to a new 924, a 924 Turbo in Ocean Green (Lhasa Green) ... this could be the very colour I choose if I get the opportunity to go PTS on a future special car.
