928 Moderator needed

Following extensive discussions between Brett928 and the Porsche Club GB administration team, it is with regret we report that Brett felt he was unable to agree to the current terms and conditions of the Club Forums:

http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/PCGB%20Forum%20Rules%202003.pdf

As a result Brett has chosen to resign as 928 Forum Moderator.

We are obviously disappointed that Brett has come to this decision and we appreciate the enthusiasm he has put into this forum and his efforts in assisting his fellow 928 owners, Club members or otherwise.

At this time the 928 forum will be looked after by the admin team. The role of a dedicated 928 Forum Moderator remains open and, if you would like to be considered for this position, please do not hesitate to contact the Forum Admin team.

It is not a requirement that the moderator own a 928, as the role is to ensure smooth running of the Forum, not to provide technical advice. It would, however, be considered advantageous as the moderator would help promote interest in the content of postings within the forum.

Thanks,

The Admin team.

Thanks, Dave. It's only taken 6 years for someone to offer!

As a recent joiner of PCGB I am in need of a few tips about the Forum and how to get the best out of it for my 928? I see the posts about the 928 Moderator but they date back a few years. I have posted a few simple enquiries but no replies as yet. I read the rules but I really need some instruction on how the Forum works.

Hi Robert, you seem to be able to post OK, so that's a major hurdle overcome.

Pictures are another matter.   Its easy to post one pic at a time using the icon above, but you have to use a third party host to post multiple pics.  I use Imgur which is easy to use.

If there is anything specific or for more info you really should use the General Discussion area as not many will look in this area.

Good luck

I appreciate your helpful response. Yes I can post but I suppose I am wondering if there's a place where you find out about obtaining the bits and pieces needed to keep the car in decent shape. Or is it largely just a question of searching the internet? PCGB being more for social purposes.
I didn't quite understand your final sentence. You say use the General Discussion area but then you say ' not many people will look in this area' ? Isn't that a slight contradiction ? or am I just misunderstanding something.

If you post in the 928 forum and don't get any responses  - it is a bit of a sleepy hollow as I found out when I had one - then you can always email the Register Sec for info.  928@porscheclubgb.com
Tbh, I found 928.org.uk more helpful for technical questions.

I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I'm going.

Ah I see. Thanks for the guidance. I just tried to enter the General Discussion area but I couldn't get in. Something to do with not having the RSS app on my MacBook
