Chris,

Yes, a very big investment by the last two owners but as long as the suspension is unwound, you keep the harnesses out the way (normal belts as well), can get in the seats, avoid glazing the race pads (when the they are not used hard enough) and put the right wheels and tyres back on what could be easier.....! But I am looking for a less 'edgy' 911 to keep the 968 company and use more for the road!

I fully understand the "Can get into the seats" bit Mike - my 968 coupe had comfort seats with the low side bolsters, the cab has full leather sports seats with high side bolsters, wife and I both have slightly dodgy lower backs and are not as young as we once were! Love the comfort of the sports seats once we're in the car - it's getting in and out of it that's getting slowly more of a problem. I know we'd have no chance at all if we had CS hardback buckets!! Still, we love the cab when the sun is shining and we can go out topless, so we'll keep her for a while yet!

Have you found the 968uk forum yet - well worthwhile for 968 owners of all sorts. We even have a couple of turbo/supercharged cars (one is a cabriolet!) as well as some track oriented, and 1 or 2 planning turbo conversions! Loads of practical knowledge on there.

Hi Martynb,
Did you race your car last year in the AMOC, I might have a few pics of it if you did, I was at the last race of the year at Silverstone?
Cheers Richard

Yes, Silverstone was a shake down drive ready for the coming season.
White 968 #144, any pictures would be great (much better than the gravel I ended the race in)

Thanks Chris the 968 forum is on the 'to do' list, very focused and informative, my car was advertised there and on Pistonheads. For reference of any owners in the Bath/Bristol area Cameron Sports Cars (2 miles from J18 of the M4) have just completed a major service (including belt changes) and the technicians proved to be very helpful and knowledgable given that the car is way from standard!

Hi, I thought my post had registered and if it did my apologies for the repeat. Anyway,
have mentioned before that in New Zealand I have a NZ new, am second owner, 1992 Grand Prix White Tiptronic. It has covered 307,000 kms, on the original motor! I did have a stuck inlet valve ? I am no mechanic, and that problem was solved by sealing the other 3 pots? to remove and replace the stuck one. So the head did not have to come off! Does this make sense to anybody. I've only mentioned it as a matter of interest. I have owned the car for coming up to 14 years now and cannot wait to drive it again as I have been touring Britain and Europe for the last 16 months. Leave for NZ tomorrow. I have posted other stuff on this site, re tyres, new trans and track speed, and thank you to the guys putting me onto 968 engine reconditioning specialists as I may need one sooner rather than later with the mileage I have covered!
