So what am I looking at?

I've brought the car home from Thruxton and looking at it in detail for the first time. It has been in CES and Tom's house prior to this and haven't really had much time to ponder things.

Thruxton was very wet and I had the wrong tyres so I drove it carefully and ensured I didn't have any grassy moments.

But looking at the car from the front, the two front side vents have grills over the heat exchangers but the middle one hasn't.

Presumably the heat exchangers are oil, water and ac. But which is which?

If I wanted to put a grill over the middle vent, can I remove the lips and replace them afterwards?

Hi Gerry,

The two outer vents are for the a/c condensers which are positioned in front of the coolant radiators, and the centre vent will be for an additional coolant radiator (if you have it). Other than the 981/718 GT4 and Spyder, for some unknown reason the marmite cars have never been fitted with grilles to protect the condensers/radiators. Zunsport grilles are a popular aftermarket choice for all the Porsche sports cars, and they can be left in place or removed as required since they are fitted from outside.

Oil cooling is provided by an oil-to-coolant heat exchanger … there’s nothing up the front of the car.

Jeff

Thanks, Jeff

I'll track down a Zunsport grill.

Gerry,

Just to mention that a 20% Club discount code PC092015 is available for the Zunsports.
