.2 GTS Pan Roof

Greetings,

After some time away from the marque, I am nearly ready to buy back in. will be my first 911 having previously owned front and mid engined (username probably gives the latter away:)) Porsches.

So, I’ve driven a few cars, a Turbo S, Carrera T and a GTS and have decided that the GTS (rwd) is what I want.

Most that come up have pan-roofs, as did the one I drove, and I wondered if there have been any issues with them. Other German marques have has problems with creaking, cracking and chipping on their sportier cars with glass roofs.

I hope all are well and appreciate response in advance.

p.s. I have tried the search function for anyone who feels the compulsion to point out forum etiquette:)

I had a C2S with the pan roof and no issues, but as others will remind you the extra weight is in the wrong place.
It was a compromise at the time as my OH likes a bit of sun and wind in the hair.
Solved that with a cab!

I'm sure you'll enjoy a 2GTS with or without the option. And maybe change your forum name[:D]

Thanks, yeah I removed the sunroof from my e46 m3 and replaced it with a carbon roof for that exact reason. Doing that to an £80k ish car is just not an option though.

I have talked myself into being able to live with the compromise (and juxtaposition) of having a pan-roof on a sports car. As much as i fancy myself as a quick driver, I’m wise enough to know I would have to drive a pan-roof car back-to-back with a non pan roof car, probably hard on track to be able to notice the difference in dynamics. In other words, unlikely to spoil my enjoyment of the car as long as they don’t break.

I’ll change my username as soon as I have a car :)

thanks for the reply. Appreciated
