Helping to sell a friends 928 S4 Auto. MY89, 100k miles

Hi Guys

Thought I would put a post here first for some help/advice/ideas.

One of my neighbour's husbands passed a way a year or two back. He was the owner of a tidy 928 S4, blue with cream leather, auto (unfortunately!), 5L V8. It was first registered 1st Aug 89, amazingly the same day as my car! Has a GTS rear panel and bumper, but can't be a GTS as they were 92 onwards I think.

She has now decided to sell it on, it has MOT till November, and it has had money spent on it and been well looked after. I've got loads of pictures.

Firstly, if anyone knows anyone looking for one, you could do a lot worse. It's been garaged last 2 years but fired up and turned over every month or so. I will look into the market, they do seem to be going up steadily in value, she thinks its worth anything between £18k and £22k. I do know she would let it go to an enthusiast for £18k for a quick sale.

It comes with a 2nd set of alloys and tyres (not sure which yet), sports exhaust, seems to have an Alpine sound system and MTX audio system whatever that is! A sizeable history file, 8 previous keepers, comprehensive service history that looks up to date (last service 98k miles), belts last done at 99k miles, recent new battery, recent water pump, recent wheel refurb, recent fuel lines, recent radiator, recent HT leads, recent paint, 2 keys and key fobs, lots of recent-ish money spent.

Seemingly everything works as it should and the car seems to not have wanted for anything. Pretty much drive it away.

Let me know your thoughts and any help you can give me.

Cheers

Stuart

No sunroof as far as I can tell? If yes this is a big plus for taller people as headroom has never been a forte of the 928.

It looks like a very clean car regardless. Good luck with the sale.

That looks lovely - a car I absolutely adore seeing on the roads but can’t bring myself to drive one for fear of disappointment.

Obviously fake though as that looks like some sort of palm in the background and we all know you’re in Scotland!

Ha ha, it is fake, the palm that is!

Thom - it does have a sunroof, just checked some other pics.

Thanks for the comments, yeah it's a lovely car, I think they are 320BHP, 32v, V8, not likely to keep up with you Dave off the lights but it would be a sublime cruiser with a lovely soundtrack!

And as I said, should someone be in the market for one of these, its a steal at £18k. It would probably still be a steal @ £20k having had a browse on what's for sale on ebay currently.

Just a couple of suggestions - put this conversation into the 928 forum rather than/as well as the 944 forum where it is now. Second, why not advertise in the Car Sales section on here as a starter?

Thanks Brian, was seeing if any interest from my 944 chums first!

Now listed on 928 and for sale threads on here and on TIPEC.

Love the looks, and with the right exhaust they sound the nuts. But it would have to be a manual, and I'm guessing they cost more to run than a 944 turbo.

I think with your annual mileage the costs would be marginal to say the least :ROFLMAO:

Ha ha, but my £ per mile insurance costs are astronomical [:(].

Lovely car - looked at a few of these before I bought my 996 but couldn't find a tidy one at the time!

I did test drive one and it was lovely, shifted nicely and plenty of power.
