Syncing favourite destinations between MyPorsche and 718

Hi all,

I’m having a bit of a head scratch trying to get the link between MyPorsche and the car to sync the nav favourites. Everything else is working (trip info, fuel, tyre pressures etc) but I just can’t get the car to pick up favourites set in the app. The option to sync is turned on, I tried updating the nav and nothing looks to be set incorrectly. I know the PCM/MyPorsche thing is a bit flakey and getting up to date information on how to configure everything is scant.

Anyone else had the same issue and fixed it?

Cheers,
Paul.

It never worked for me, but I don’t really care because I don’t use the Porsche sat nav. Car Play means I can use TomTom, Google, Waze etc all of which are far superior to the Porsche navigation.

Is this any use?
Thanks Richard - not really as this relates to the now retired Porsche Connect app and everything has now moved to the My Porsche app which is a bit different. The phone is connected to the car correctly but just the favourites isn't working. Calendar etc is.

Firstly I would check on the web under your account to see if it has synchronised there, you should see all your favourites on the map. Also ensure your Porsche connect is activated see diagram below.

On the web it definitely says vehicle linked. I'm not sure where I should be looking to see my favourites on the map - there doesn't appear to be an option on the web just in the MyPorsche app which is where I created the favourites that aren't syncing.

Under your name

overview

about my vehicle

it should show a map

On the map click Manage destinations.

All your saved places should be here

You can also send destinations from your vehicle from here.

Huw - nope no map. Just the option to change the picture of my car and go to connect services.

Dan - already have TomTom Go app as offline navigation is something I need and it has a route planner and syncing works.

Favourites not syncing is not a biggie but it's annoying me that it should work and isn't when in my Land Rover it works flawlessly (which is ironic given how much grief they get over their infotainment system)

I don’t think you are connected correctly you should have this showing

Bear in mind the 718 has PCM 4 which has limited functionality. Can anyone else with a 718 confirm they see the screen above?

It’s a later version on the 992. I have given up on synchronising destinations. The app doesn’t seem to save them either.

I do have on my new Boxster.

It's a slightly different screen, but gives a Google Earth type map and locates the car.

I then have another screen which gives me all the same data as on the PCM, tells me if the car is locked, tyre pressures etc.

I haven't yet tried to set up a destination and send to the PCM but the destination search function is there.

I will take a screen shot but guess it will take me a while to upload to Flikr and post on here😡

I have just saved a couple of destinations on the My Porsche app map. These are now showing on the car PCM under app favourites.

Bizarrely, although the favourites have been saved on the My Porsche app on the phone and on the car PCM, it doesn't then synch with the My Porsche app on my tablet to show the favourites on there🙄

As the issue seems to be partly with the web interface and partly with the app I'm tempted to start again (uninstall the app, de-link the car). Is there anything I need to be wary of as don't want to have the dealer have to re-enable connect services.

Progress! Still haven't sorted the web interface so that's probably a call to put in but have got the favourites to work - mostly. If I just connect my phone via bluetooth everything works. I can see and select the favourites I've saved. However, if I plug the phone in to use CarPlay the favourites, calendar and Amazon Music all disappear. I suspect this was happening all along but I always had the phone plugged in. What threw me was the option in the nav to select "Portal POI" and that is always blank so I've no idea what that is for.
