Tyre Choice

I will soon need new front tyres on my 991 C4 GTS. Currently all four are PZero.

After looking at a couple of forums I get the impression Michelin PS4S are better and much quieter and that N rated are available.

What do you think?

I have 6mm on the rears so if I put Michelins on the front I would be driving with two makes for about 18 months.

If you're changing tyre brand, Porsche require fitting tyres of the same type and manufacturer all round. [;)]

When I upgraded from stock PZero to Michelin PS4S the transformed performance gave me a much, much better handling 991 into the bargain.

Absolutely agree the Michelin PS4S are streets ahead of the Pirelli both for handling and comfort, plus they last longer too.

However unwise to have two different makes at the same time as this really does alter handling.

I would just replace all 4 with PS4S
its only around £1k and the difference is huge imho

Don't even think about mixing tyres, for Porsche its a no-no, and especially not good on a four wheel drive vehicle.

The standard P Zero is rubbish. P4S is supposed to be by far the best all round option. I switched from P Zeros to Cup 2's. The steering instantly became super light and accurate, the road noise dropped and ride quality became significantly less harsh. The negative, apart from the tyres picking up road rubbish, was that my motorway mpg dropped by 4mpg!

Never mix tyres.
