Engine out job to replace/refit? 2) - At 48000 miles - should I be considering clutch replacement? (particularly if the answer to 1 above is 'yes - engine removal required') 993 owners with experience of either of the foregoing issues would be much appreciated. My car spent first 6 years with a lady (as in member of house of lords) driver in London and needed a replacement clutch just after I bought it at 28K miles. That clutch has now done 75K miles and still feels like new. Location of oil leaks on mine change at each report, but there almost always is one. I did get the cam cover seals replaced but it didn't have much impact on the reports. Also - engine does not need to come out to change clutch (on a C2 - and, if your mechanic is one of the cunning ones, on a C4) Mark Elder 993C4 Manual Coupe, Black/Black, 1996P, 74K of her 101K miles in my hands. The ones you will have to get sorted when required, are the cam box (especially lower) covers/seals/gaskets. I guess that I'm still keen to have the OPC stamp in the maintenance booklet - and (unfortunately) the higher labour costs will follow! Sorry I wasn't able to make PITG; wife and I were in Pittenweem that weekend. It looks to have been a fine day, with some great looking cars attending. Well done for organising.
