we are thrilled to be returning to one of the most exciting automotive venues in the north, The Motorist, on Sunday, 21 May. Perfectly situated in the heart of Yorkshire

Interesting take on club geography :ROFLMAO:

I also note that there are four big events taking place on the eastern side of the country this year.

Greetings from the new guy!

As i'm living in the Lochaber / Inverness area, does that qualify as the West Midlands now? :)

Indeed - the motorist isn't even halfway up the mainland UK!
I protest and demand it be edited and called a southern event [:D]

When you're sat in Gloucestershire, yorkshire does seem like the north ?? and let's face it to southerners anything above Manchester is the north ??

I would have to agree with George Mason. It‘s tiresome to keep reading ”an event in the North" when it actually means an event in the Middle of the UK Being members of Porsche "UK” living in Scotland we have to drive South to many an events location described as "North"? I am in no way anti English I have a lot of English friends and I’m proud of being both Scottish & British. Trying to be polite and not too pedantic it would show some respect to others in the UK to reference locations more accurately.
”North of England" is more than acceptable or ”middle of the UK”‘would also be suitable in this instance.
We are very far from PCGB up in Scotland and we miss out on some fantastic events due to distance and sometimes we feel a little unloved from HQ as the links don’t seem to be that strong IMHO.
Not having a rant just asking for a little bit of thought before location references are made

I feel like this is a good time to point out we have 4 members living on the Shetland isles, which is further away from us than Yorkshire so what am I moaning about! We're all southerners to someone.

One day we'd like to hold a PCGB event on Shetland. It's only an extortionate overnight ferry ride away [:D]

George, great idea, you could make it a joint event with Porsche Club Norge as they are closer to Shetland than Englandshire.
