Any help appreciated.


I have a 997 Turbo S it is insured with KGM via Manning Brokers. Premium last year £400.96p on agreed value. I have been told by brokers, KGM no longer insuring modern classics. I cannot seem to find anyone that will insure me on agreed value. Any suggestions please. My email is mail@terrysquires.co.uk

Try Academy insurance. They are excellent brokers who always find the best agreed value deal for me.

Last July Manning told me they weren't offering agreed value or track day cover as Ageas were no longer offering such cover. And they wanted an increase in premium over my 21/22 policy.

I went to ClassicLine and got agreed value and track day cover for £77 less than my 21/22 policy with Manning, with the insurance placed with Ageas. The AV required me to submit six photos of the car and pay an additional £24 admin fee and CL assessed the photos and the value I placed on the car and issued the AV. It's valid for two years.

For future reference; based upon my own experience, ClassicLine will accept the PCGB valuation which (theoretically!) you can get from the Club FOC.

At the time last year PCGB weren't doing the valuations so I asked Dove House (who supplied and serviced) for a guide price for insurance purposes. I am not sure if PCGB have restarted valuations.

I wasn't bothered so much about the track day cover, although it's a useful nice to have. It was the AV I wanted and based on current prices I am glad I have it.

Mine is a 997.2 C2 with a manual box.

The Club weren’t officially offering valuations last April when I enquired, but Paul Grainger very kindly came back to me with one, although it took a few weeks.

I’ve just checked and it looks as thought it’s available again?

Classicline are good for me, particularly for low annual mileage. I just had PCGB turn around a valuation in less than 24 hours!

Exact same with me, except different underwriter (KGM). Bizarre. Can only assume Manning trying to offload customers with a "story" that does not hold true.

Mannings underwriter did indeed drop track day cover after some very large claims, they now have a typically priced per day standalone track day policy. I had to move from them at the time of my November 2021 renewal - I went to ClassicLine who were more expensive and offered only 5k miles pa on a March 2022 GT4 which mileage I managed to do in 5 months.
