718 2.5 GTS noise from passenger side in the engine compartment in Sport and Sport+

Odd question but I have a 2.5 GTS and have very recently noticed that when in Sport and Sport+ mode and giving any amount of throttle, there's a noise a little like the actuation of an electric pump or motor in my left ear (so from the passenger side) from the engine compartment. The correlation between any throttle at all and no throttle at all is 100% and also it never happens in normal mode (which makes me wonder if it's fuel pump related for the extra throttle response?)

I'm struggling to recall if it's always been this way (I usually have music on when I drive) or whether it's a new development but wanted to ask if other's have experienced this and whether it's anything I should potentially keep an eye on?

Hi Antony,

Are you sure that it’s not just the Soundaktor sound generator, which is a speaker-like device attached to the engine bulkhead to “enhance” cabin noise?

Am not sure of that at all tbh. I'd need to hear some examples of how that sounds I guess (will see what google offers me)

If you pull out the 7.5 amp fuse in the fuse box located on the drivers side of the boot (top line closest to the tail light) it will turn the speaker off. Don't worry, it doesn't throw any fault lights.

The only other thing I can think of is it's induction noise which is more prominent when in sport/+
