I read that cleverly worded article as meaning the figure quoted was for the unit only and that fitting will be extra...

Thatalso happens to be the price in Germany. In addition, initially the fitting time was 2 hours. Even at £150/ hour labour charges that is way cheaper than other quotes I have seen.

Best fitted price I've seen online is £1800...but that doesn't include map data (add £109) and for Bose will need another adaptor (add £55)

I'll stick to my Tom Tom :)

Re the cost

Porsche  Centre Chester have these kits listed on eBay at c£1550.  I added to my watch list and they've just offered 19% off bringing the cost down to £1250.... much more reasonable...

Wow thats a good deal. Very happy with ours. Transforms the 997 experience and I love that PCCM + works with steering wheel controls and dash. We have had zero glitch issues and I do not mind that    Car Play isn't wireless as it charges the phone. Also in the quick start instruction manual it mentions reverse camera operation so I am hoping this functionality will soon also be available. Have asked OPC Reading about reverse camera availability  ;)

Is it possible to have an iPod AND a smartphone plugged in? The iPod would have my music database but the phone for navigation, calls etc.

I ordered and installed the kit from JoyAuto, works a treat in my 997.2 touch screen is a little weird as i guess it was never designed to "swipe" but apart from that all functionality works perfectly 350 USD

I had a genuine PCCM fitted yesterday to my 997.1 C4S by Friends Green Porsche and have to post about this:-
I contacted two OPC's a while ago and was quoted over £2600, eventually, once I'd had to answer all manner of questions and waited for suitable responses.
A local car audio specialist quoted around £2400 for an Alpine head unit together with a new amp etc, as I've the BOSE system upgrade.
I then found Friends Green details on the forum, so thought I'd give them a call.
Luke the proprietor was very knowledgable and helpful and managed to get me booked in within two weeks.
When I arrived, the young mechanic came straight over and took a genuine interest in my car and what I wanted them to do.
Luke then came over and they dropped me at a very lovely cafe in nearby Baldock, where I had a tasty waffle and coffee.
The cafe owner was used to Luke's clients coming over and was happy for me to sit there for quite a while sorting out some business on my phone and lap top.
I had a quick wander around the picturesque town and then got a call saying the car was ready.
They picked me up and brought me back to a perfectly fitted and working system in my car, with the old unit boxed and in the back. All in less trhan three hours.
Total cost, including the navigation software was £1850.
It's a great unit and well worth it in my opinion, even though I still haven't worked out all the functions for myself.
Equally, the service, attention and enthusiasm from Luke and his team is noteworthy and I would wholeheartidly recommend them to anyone; good old fashioned customer service.

(I'm going to get my mate to send me a rude text now to see if the nice lady from Google will read it out!!!!. Sorry, I just can't grow up).
