Hi, ive found myself getting a 944 back on the road after being dry stored since 2006, mechanics all done, MOT done, just having issues with the passenger side electric window!! So, it works from the drivers side switch, but not from passenger side, ive tried new switches, and the new switches stop it working from drivers side?? So old switch on passenger side does not work, but lets drivers side passenger switch work.... new switch nothing works, tried 2 new switches, both the same..... any ideas?? Many thanks..Andy

it's got to be either wiring contacts or switches (new or old) but if the motor/mechanism has got sticky/stiff through lack of use with dried up grease ,the motor load could defeat the best contacts.
I always have the engine running ,check all connectors, even plip the switches apart & check for lacquered or slightly corroded switch contacts,& buff them up a little .
I always coat them with a little vaseline too.

My memory is a little hazy here as I relocated the switches in my car to the centre console due to carbon door cards.

IIRC the driver’s side passenger window switch will only work if the passenger switch is working and connected (I had to bury the switch and wiring in the door cavity for this purpose). So my gut feeling with this is its an issue with the wiring on the passenger door side somewhere. The bit with changing out the passenger side switch and that stopping the driver’s side working is leading me away from the switch itself being the issue but when you say "new” switches - have you confirmed that they are working as intended?
