Creaking noise from the clutch

Hey all,

I've got a creaking noise coming from the clutch. Struggling to get time to get it lifted up to have a look at the moment so I thought I would just ask the question here first, and if my logic is sound, get the part ordered in advance.

Basically when I depress the clutch, I get a creak. It's not the pedals or the master as I can hear the noise coming from under the car.

When you first get into it, usually there is no noise but after a little driving its there.

Fluid is topped off.
Brakes work fine.

As the clutch is hydraulic, to my mind the only mechanical bit that can be making that noise is the slave on the top of the gearbox.

I have two theories now I think of it ...

1) the piston seals are tired and so the piston is not pushing on the clutch fork fully (which is supported by the fact that gear changes are not as smooth as I would like, especially when cold)
2) The hinge mechanism for the clutch fork is dying and needs some attention.


Any thoughts on that one from people who know better than I?

It’s most likely the lever mechanism in the bell housing.
not much you can do until engine out if that’s what it is

It might be the clutch return spring, it could be worth changing this first before the clutch.

I was also thinking the mechanism inside the bell housing annoyingly.

Clutch return spring, where abouts is that? On the pedal? The noise is definitely from the underside as opposed to the pedal box.
