Dear R3 Members, we were delighted to recognise our members who have given their time over the past year to help like minded members enjoy their Porsches, meet new friends and unwind from the daily stresses. Our 2022 award winners are:

Outstanding Support Medals in 2022:

David and Karen Bradford, and Amy Carnaffin - who arranged and hosted an outstanding concours day at Porsche Centre Teesside

John Hallworth and Gillian Lewis - who hosted members at the PCGB trackday at Croft

Greg and Deb - who hosted the Great North East Classic Car Show at Beamish and the Post Christmas Party

Dave Carnaffin - who has assisted at a number events with logistics and brawn to help us set up and tear down at the end of the day

Spirit of R3 2022: this year Jack Hoskin was the worthy winner of this Award. Since joining the Club Jack has attended nearly every regional event and meeting, regardless of distance or weather, he always has a story to share with friends, and Jack's knowledge of the Northumbrian roads helped to design a wonderful run out for members early in the year. I am sure we all hope that we have the energy and speed that Jack has, which defy is young years - congratulations Jack.

Members of the Year 2022: we were delighted to recognise this year's winners in this category. Mike and Barbara Walden have supported us throughout, hosting a regional meeting and 2 events and preparing a number of fantastic routes for our 2022 WOTY. Without Mike and Barbara's support we would not have been able to run a number of events this year.

Please join us in thanking all the above outstanding regional members, who have help make R3 a successful region once again in 2022 - we hope that you have enjoyed at least one of the many wonderful events supported by the above members.

We were very please to be able to announce that Dave Carnaffin will take over from us RO. Dave is a well know member in R3 who has supported the region over many years, and is a former R3 Member of the Year. Despite his busy work and PCGB Director schedule, Dave has managed to fit in time to support many events providing logistic, and moral, support to our events. Dave will transition into the RO role as he steps aside form his Register Director role with the Club in April having served the maximum consecutive period he can. We are sure that members will be forthcoming with the support we have experienced as ROs, please join us in welcoming Dave to the role and wishing him good luck.

Best regards - Philip & Jacquie

Congratulations to all the winners and great to see Dave pick up the RO spot.

Before we look to the future, can offer big thanks to the outgoing RO’s Jacqui & Phil for their hard work during difficult times and for not dropping the ball whilst looking for their replacements.

Dave you will be a great loss as Register Director Secretary been one of the best very supportive to your RS people, our loss is R3s gain as the new RO all the best in your new role when you take over.

Sorry I missed the awards evening, but a massive congratulations to the hugely deserving winners in all categories. This extends to Philip and Jaquie for their commitment during some impossible world-wide circumstances and also beyond their agreed RO period.

I know I’m a bit late in commenting, but Chris and I had a great Xmas night at Redworth Hall, which Greg and Deb did another super job organising.

I’m looking forward to loads more brilliant stuff this year with a group of smashing people. On that front what’s the thinking around either Ireland or Shetland?

Cheers

Dave & Chris

Congratulations to all the worthy winners of awards this past year. let's remember how much unpaid effort is put in to all the back-room work that goes into arranging runs out, WOTY's, dinners and general merriment for all members.

Also thanks to Dave and Amy Carnaffin for stepping up to the RO job as well as Randal Flack for taking on the "Panamera" register secretary role.

And finally thanks to Philip and Jacquie Sayer for their excellent steerage of the club for the last few years especially through the difficult times of covid, well done all.

Congratulations to all the winners and great to see Dave taking in the RO role although I’m sure he’ll be missed at national level. Huge thanks to Phil and Jackie for all their hard work too and making this new member feel very welcome.

I‘m aiming to be at a lot more events this year, I hardly got to any last year which just wasn’t good enough!
