997.2 USB/Aux advice

I'm changing my 997.1 to a 997.2 and in preparation for collecting the car next week I'd like some advice please regarding playing music from the USB connector in the armrest.
Admittedly I'm yet to have the car but wondered which connector people use for Android phones as mine has an iPhone connector? I've noticed a Justop USB dongle for approx £8 on Amazon and wondered if anyone has used this.
Lastly when setting BT from phone do I link to dongle or PCM 3.0? Sorry if this appears a simple Q but I'm a technophobe. Many thanks.

Hi, I had the same queries when I bought my 997.2 back in 2013 and explored various options. In the end I decided to stick with just the radio for journeys.
There are some good replies to queries about the same in the FAQ's though. Worth searching in there. Good luck.

To close the loop in case anyone is interested or in case you're reading in the future and found this in your search; I've solved it. I bought a Ugreen Aux/ BT adaptor for £13. I plug it into BT and Aux in armrest and connect my phone to it (not PCM) via BT. When I switch on car it connects automatically, I can play music through speakers (select Aux on PCM) but have to change tracks on phone. If someone calls I accept via PCM and speak normally, when finished music continues. Also, if I want to make a call I do this via PCM phone/phone book. The sound quality during calls or when listening to music is excellent.

Thanks for the information, it certainly sounds like a better solution than my current set up of running a very long jack to jack lead from the armrest to my phone on the dash.
I looked at the Ugreen product line up and there are several. Is it the rigid body with jack included type or the jack on a coiled lead with (What looks like) a USB on the other end? Does it constantly charge and work simultaneously or do you need to charge it separately?

Thanks in advance

It is the Aux on one end with coiled lead to USB on the other, model number CM309. I bought it on Amazon. It constantly charges so no need to undertake that separately.

For what it's worth I've also seen this one recommended for the same purpose: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01HXXJPWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_S9ES6TQQP0HY6B5FM45G

In my car I have the Bovee 1000, which also gives you track information and the next/prev track buttons work. These features are nice, but the Bovee is expensive and sometimes just refuses to work until I stop/start everything. I've been tempted to switch to a cheaper solution like the above.

If you're looking to mount your phone, this is the best solution I've found:

There's a pricey add-on that lets you use the iPhone's Magnet to attach the phone, which is working well for me - enough that I am no longer worried about when there's PCCM Plus will arrive for the 997.2.
