Car Storage Paisley/Glasgow Area

Hi, I'm currently looking for secure indoor storage in the Glasgow/Paisley area for my Cayman R for the next few months until I can get my current garage extended to accommodate a second car. Ideally somewhere with a suitable environment that allows reasonable access around the car for routine starts and to minimize the risk of damage and also with the option to have the car maintained on a battery conditioner. I'd like to check on it every few weeks as well so that's another factor I need to consider.

I've done the usual research online and there appears to be limited options around the Glasgow/Paisley area and there's very little in the way of reviews/feedback for most. I've also looked online at local general storage facilities but these do not appear to offer indoor storage for vehicles. I've even considered renting a small commercial/industrial unit or lock up but the options are either limited or not cost effective.

Any recommendations or advice would be much appreciated.

I have used Caledonian Car Storage previously and very happy with the service. They are based in Ayrshire.

Thanks for the feedback Keith.  I had a look at their website, which is pretty comprehensive, but there's not much in the way of reviews online so good to hear a positive review.  I think finding a storage solution will be easier than finding a builder to extend my garage, that's another challenge all together.

Just to close out this post, I've now got storage arranged at Auto Boutique. Hopefully this works out and my car can remain in storage until my spring/summer, by which time my garage extension will hopefully be completed. Thanks for the replies.

Just a thought, it might be worth checking that your insurance co fully covers your car for all eventualities when stored other than in your home garage.... Good luck with the building project.. been there done that..(-:

Yes, good point and thanks for the reply.  Looks like I've got a builder lined up now so hoping to have the Cayman R back home by late summer.

On the insurance, I read some time back of a tales where there were issues in storage and where one chap was very fortunate to have taken out a policy that specifically covered storage, that is the only reason I mentioned it.
I expect storage companies will have insurance, but perhaps best not to be solely depend upon that..?

I used to be involved in a car storage business. We had insurance public liability and for the building and the cars were covered under that but only if they were damaged by something that happened to the building. However if you put your car into storage you must tell your insurance where you are storing it and the dates it’ll be in there. If you don’t and something happens to it your insurance won’t pay out.

89 944 S2 new floor. sills. and loads of other sheet metal,968cs arbs, rebuilt brakes.all new poly bushes and mounts,968 castor mounts,968 cs steering wheel, cup 1 17 inch 7.5 and 9 inch wheels, and loads of other bits new as well.

Yes, good advice regarding the insurance.  Hopefully my requirement for storage will be relatively short lived and I can get the car back home and safe in my own garage.  I'm also missing tinkering with it over the winter months, so in the meantime I'm gathering some parts for a springtime service to get the car prepped for summer.
