2022 Macan sitting at dealer for 1 month. NO AMP?

Hi all!
I'm new to the club but have a GT4 and waiting on a new Macan S. Unfortunately my car has been sat at an AD for over a month now as the car has been shipped with no AMP. I've reached out to Porsche directly to log a complaint but after 4 days I'm yet to have even an acknowledgement.

Is anyone else in the same situation?

Cheers. The issue I have is that I want the car! Been waiting for 7 months already. The dealership are claiming they're in the dark as much as I am and seem (as expected) keen to get this delivered and fully sold.

I also have a 992 GTS on order which I'm now doubting as to whether I should continue on that path!

??

Hi James,

Can I ask when you ordered your Macan S?

I ordered mine in February, and I'm still yet to be given a build date. Getting pretty fed up now. My X3 is now worth far less than what is was, just a few months ago. I've bene hit by one price rise, and no doubt the finance rate I was originally quoted when ordering will not be honoured.

Can I also ask what you mean by `no AMP`? What is AMP?

No communication from Porsche at all. TBH, my experience from the very start has not been great. Had better customer service from Ford.

Sure, ordered in Jan of this year so quite a wait too! Completely agree with your comments above, mostly in the same boat.

AMP as in amplifier, so the car is sat there but Porsche have shipped a lot of cars across UK without any bose amps (chip shortage causing delays). There are some people that have been waiting 2 plus months with their car ready for delivery but just missing the amp. It's madness.

Thanks for the reply James.
I've ordered the Bose system myself, so will probably be in the same boat there. I have heard of other things missing when people have collected their cars. No SD slots etc.

It is all getting silly now. I'm seriously thinking of cancelling.

Yeah I completely get it. Expect a better level of service from Porsche. What i would add is those that have now got their Macans, they're very happy they waited - don't cut off your nose to spite your face, Porsche may give us some free mugs to accommodate for the delay and cost ??

Not so sure Porsche can entirely be blamed for the world shortage of semi-conductors, can it?
For this reason, suppliers have been unable to provide Porsche with components needed to complete the manufacturing process.
Both manufacturer and dealer would presumably be most keen to handover the car, get your money and free up some showroom/storage space as soon as possible, wouldn't they?

Regards,

Clive

Free mugs, lol. I think they think we are mugs.

Yeah, I'll hold off cancelling for now. If they ramp up the finance I may well cancel, or look for finance elsewhere. But as interest rates rise, I can't see cheap finance being available. I did sign paperwork on the finance agreement, so I may be ok. But I'm sure they'll just state it was a quotation only.

Then it's the question of buying outright and tying that much cash up in one asset? I'll hold off till the new year.

Yep agree with all of this. The issue is lack of dates, why some cars are prioritised over others in terms of amplifiers, I'm sure there is a reason but would be good to not just be left in the dark. As a result we are paying a daily fee for our current lease car as an example, with an unknown end date.

My gut feel is it'll be another month based on what I've read online.

Let's see!

Randomly I've just had a call from Porsche to refresh the finance quote as it was over 90 days old. Even more random, the purchase price of the car has reduced by £60 or so, small win there ??

What APR are they now quoting? I was quoted 6.9% which I thought was high, as BMW were offering 3.5%

I think there is a little more to it than meets the eye. I refuse to believe that all semi-conductors (or most) were produced solely in the Ukraine. Why would every manufacturer on the planet all buy from the same place?

While ICE cars seam to be worst hit, EV's which surely use the same semi-conductor's (and possible more) as ICE cars, seam to have been affected far less, as you can get an EV far quicker.

I was watching a video where they were explaining that due to the push for all car to be Electric, manufacturers are being forced to reduce there overall CO2 emissions so not to incur fines. How best to reduce emissions? Build more EV's and delay ICE car production.

It could be rubbish, but it does make sense.

Can I ask when you ordered yours?

I've spoken to my dealer and told them people who ordered around the same time as me have had their cars built and either delivered or sat waiting for parts. When I've not even had a build date. He said I shouldn't listen to internet forums !!!!!! Basically, they're lying !

He did say I should now get my car in 2023. Just when in 2023 he couldn't tell me, lol.

Ordered the car April , got an earlier car than expected , was delivered to OPC first week Oct without the Bose amp , which is a quick dealer fit , when they get one ??
