Any more description? Whistling when - engine stationary idling, while driving etc? Able to take a quick video on your phone and post up?

And is it triggered by something like the heater being on - which activates a blower at the rear?  Which in my case has been known to develop a squeaky bearing.

Thanks for your reply, yes this only started when I put the heater on. The heater is off and I started the car this morning and the same intermittent whistle noise. Can I stop this, any advice? thank you

As Paul suggests, maybe best to eliminate the rear blower as an issue first. With it on have a good listen to the fan motor, or better still check it out and feel for any fan rumble or wobble by hand. I changed the Bosch motor on mine as the shaft bearing had totally gone and had 'grooved' the housing. If the motor if fine maybe check the positioning of the heater duct tp fan shroud - with the fan on could that create a leak/gap whistle from a small gap between the two (and the rubber seal that joins them)?
