996 2002 carrera 4 cluster not shutting off after locking the car

Hello everyone
im back after a couple of years just to let you know I resolved my dash not shutting off after locking thus draining my battery after 2 days.
I read on the forum about various things to change like ignition switch, brake switch, light switch and so on but no one came up with the obc stick itself. It seems to have been stuck in the on position pulling towards you Although the obc worked fine it just wouldn’t let the cluster shut down. I used A ctek charger most of the time to stop battery from going flat. Any how I hope this helps someone who is having the same problems as I did. It a simple job to change out the stalk switch But does involve removing the steering wheel And air bag.

Hi Gavin.
Thanks for the update always good to know the outcome of these issues.
did you have to replace the switch or did switch cleaner do the job.
Thanks & regards
Andy
