Carrera 4S - 992

After a 718 GTS (yes the 2.5T) thread that divided opinion i swapped into a 992 Carrera 4S, kindly sourced by the guys over at Solihull Porsche.

Still had an itch for something with a GT badge gut at the time the new GT4 was no benefit in power or size (which was my main reason for the swap) and the GT4RS was 12 months off. Needless to say the GT3 allocations went to those that new about them long in advance!

From factory with all the usual specs
-Pan roof
-PASM sport
-Sport Exhaust
- Heated/Cooled seats
- Nose lift
- Matrix Headlights etc

Car performs brilliantly and certainly holds a better presence over the road, alot comfier on longer drives etc. Obviously not as nimble on back roads and B roads as the cayman was but certainly no slouch.

Car has since been fitted with a set of spacers to correct the wheel offsets and a full geo setup done, plus Akropovic exhaust including cats and Litchfield software producing 606bhp from the stock 444bhp. All performance parts supplied and fitted by ourselves.

Pictures of the car after recieving a full Gtechniq cermaic plus halo to the front PPF areas. GM Valeting based in west mids for some really reasonably priced ceramic coating :)

Nice spec, 600 odd bhp? That’s amazing. I’d love to see how that runs against a Turbo. I’d bet you’d give it a run for it’s money. Quite literally.

I had a C4S and added spacers. Like you I don’t like how underwhelming the wheels look sat inside the wheel arch. But I felt once the spacers were fitted they changed the feel of the steering (I had rear steer and they made the car feel floaty in turns) so I took them off. Did you drive the car much before you had them fitted and did the alignment fix this?

Yes! the aligment sorted alot of that "uncertain" back end feeling. Worth mentioning at this point i had full setup and geo done so uinsure whether just a generic alignment would provide the same results.

Yet to test it with the turbo/turbo s in stock forms. Realistically i should of bought the turbo model over this but couldn't settle with the styling of them. Speaking to a guy who does alot of tuning for this platform he seems to think somewhere between 700 and 750 is achievable on the block.

Hi i recently traded my GT4 for a 992 4S and would like to know your impressions of the remap?
The standard car is very impressive for everyday use but what's it like with the 600 bhp?
