It sits on our driveway and I always feel it's bit vulnerable to car thieves. Any advice or recommendations would be welcome? My neighbour got one from there and it doesn’t seem to have damaged the leather on his wheel. I can fully understand the belt and braces idea. Prevention is better than cure and a visual deterrent can only help to warden off potential opportunists. Trackers are only really for insurance companies to claw back what they can And who wants a car back once the scroats have abused it anyway. I might be rough but I’m slow as well Quote Reply #4
Mark Elder PCGB Member Total Posts : 2753 Joined: 2005/09/09 16:07:33 Location: Scotland (west coast) (R1) Status: online Mark Elder PCGB Member Re: Steering wheel lock suggestions 2022/08/18 20:40:45 (permalink) The insurance company I use for my campervan has recently changed to a policy of requiring a steering lock "when vehicle not in use" and the only one they find acceptable is the "Stoplock Pro" - therefore I assume it's pretty good at actually stoping theft. The downside is that you need to find somewhere convenient to store it while you are driving (not much problem in a campervan, but I think it might be in a Macan, although if your plan is only to use when parked at home, maybe you don't need to store it in the car). I have a leather steering wheel and it does not cause damage. It's also really quick to fit/remove. Mark Elder 993C4 Manual Coupe, Black/Black, 1996P, 74K of her 101K miles in my hands.
