I've booked and will have a decent drive up from Northampton area - any excuse! I'm new to the transaxle world and will be picking up my 89 944T next week.

Should be an interesting event, wonder who the model experts will be - between some of the members on this forum we could probably hold our own

Sounds like a very niche quiz. My money would be totally be on team PCGB members....

Speaking of which, is anyone planning on displaying their forum names at all? There are some people I'd definitely like to meet and say thanks to given all the help I've received over the years.

Give others the chance to avoid me too!

Really wanted to go to this but a 300 mile round trip is a bit much

Do you think they will video it? or maybe they could broadcast it live via Teams / Zoom....

”Only” 220 miles round trip for me!

Could they broadcast it/make it available online - yes, pretty easily.
Will they (as it would involve some level of effort on PCGB’s part) - probably not.

I’ll ask though.

Just a bump for this event - it’s now open to “guests of the club” via the original link too.

The 968 reg sec rang me up and asked if I was going, told him 4000 miles was a bit out of the question
think I prefer 35 degrees and a mojito

I heard on the 968uk forum from a member that attended this event that a comment was made about E10 being suitable for 968's - which is at best questionable but at worst wrong. There is plenty of info on here starting from Porsche GB saying that Boxster and later are fine with E10 but basically anything pre-Boxster is not, due to incompatibility of E10 and the lining of non-metal parts of the fuel delivery system between the fuel tank and the injectors. I also gather there is some debate about this information on EU forums where it appears 968's have been fine in EU countries running on E10.

IMHO I used to run my 968 coupe on normal E5 95RON, but based on info on here and the coupe becoming a low mileage toy rather than the main car it initially was, I switched to 99RON (which is E5) and noticed the car was much happier, performance was better and I think MPG was also a bit better. I continued this with my 968 cab, and as both were limited mileage I did not notice the incremental cost. I personally would not unless unavoidable put E10 into any FE porsche, whether 924/928/944 or 968, (unless the non-metal parrts of the fuel system have been replaced with E10 compatible materials) as the repair cost of degraded fuel line lining reaching the fuel pump and injectors is eye watering.

2008 MB SLK280 facelift, Fire Opal Red with lots of toys.

Mike and Tref did a great job with the accuracy of the 944 content and corrected some missteps from some of the other register secretaries too. I admit that I stepped out after the 944 session for fear of opening my mouth, saying what I thought, and upsetting the “organiser” - the 968 register secretary has an amazing ability to talk at length about things he has no experience of and I will leave it at that.

Mike and I have discussed plans for next year’s event - it will most likely be 944 specific with relevant and accurate content delivered in a much more engaging and interactive manner, we will not be discussing the relative merits of different brands of headlight bulbs!
