Lord Marcher, just wondering if you have taken delivery of your T4GTS. What was the final issues re delivery , parts or mis information ? Anyway hope you do have it and enjoying every minute of it. Mine on the other hand, well the screen shot from the OPC suggests it had been delivered to Emden before it had even been built...........maybe I am getting a Delorean instead :-)

Porsche certainly are making a meal out of delivering my 992.
Ordered end August 2021. Allocation came through January 2023 for April build. Built and arrived Emden 19th April 2023, since then very slow progress, not helped by them not keeping the database the dealer can access up to date. After getting the dealer to moan at them it was put on a boat to Grimsby 8 May 2023 (so arrived 9th), it took until 16th to clear quality checks and be released for despatch. Am still waiting for transport to be organised to get the car to my dealer 100 mile away. My dealer gets told they are prioritising my car but details. Absolutely shocking performance.
And don’t get me started on how long it takes for the My Porsche App to be brought in line. I did eventually move to stage 4 with access to 3 in progress build photos on 30 April (12 days after the car left the factory). No completion stage photo? Went to stage 5 a couple of days ago but again no completion photo.
That’s my rant over.

Which model did you buy Richard?

I put a deposit on a GTS a year ago and I still have no idea if and when I will get an allocation.  I think I might just stay with my S.

Ordered a standard 992 Cabriolet. Was pressured to pay for it and arrange insurance to pick it up from dealer tomorrow (10 days after it was released for despatch from Grimsby) but the despatch simply hasn’t happened and my dealer is being kept completely in the dark as to when. Mines one of 5 cars that the dealer is waiting for that have cleared quality checks at Grimsby.
I work as a functional safety assessor in the high hazard industries and would absolutely condemn a company for this level of failure. The worry is that if this kind of cultural failure, no doubt attributed by the board to factors they cannot control (things Porsche does not handle directly) will eventually filter back and start impacting the product. It may already be happening, my daughters Taycan has been back to the workshop twice now following heating failure (a safety issue as you cannot demise the windscreen) each time being out of action for 3 weeks.

This is the most frustrating part when it comes to the ordering process. Unfortunately, once the car arrives at Emden you're in the hands of the logistics company and they are a law unto themselves. I used to work in the motor trade and got really frustrated waiting for deliveries when eventually and old hand sales exec explained to me that it's not viable to send an 8 car transporter to the North West unless there are other vehicles being delivered in the area. Sometimes if they know they are expecting other cars for your OPC on the next boat they will hold off on yours until they can fill a transporter.

Totally logical from a financial and time perspective but very frustrating for a customer.

Re the app, I wouldn't get too stressed over it. I got my email to say the build was complete while the car was sat at Emden and build photos once the car had arrived in the dealership.

Gents, I can only sympathise with you all. I ordered a Targa 4 GTS last March 22. Allocation finally came through Jan this year with anticipated March delivery. Ummmmm, all best laid plans always go adrift. I am lucky to be able to get some information from my OPC in Guildford. I actually have a screen shot of the Entry to Emden 8/5 before the Vehicle completion on the 11/5 (go figure that one). They kindly let me know what ship is was on to Sheerness and it arrived last Thursday - All this was in anticipation of a 2nd revised had over on the 1st June…… It was the last 2 or 3 posts that prompted me to go and visit the OPC as previous attempts via e mail did not generate a reply (I was anxious as have PPF + ceramic planned on the Sunday)……to be now told it will not leave Sheernees for another couple of weeks……its a 1st world problem I know , but what gripes me is the lack of communication- The brand is evocative and special and I admit that even after owning a few , they still turn my head regardless of model or age….Just adore them. The issue is the same passion is not carried forward in this  process whatsoever. When I turned up today I felt like I was bothering them and I wasn’t even afforded a face to face explanation and the receptionist (all be very nice and professional) had to relay a message from the folks upstairs. I sense a shift since the Porsche Group went public a few qtrs back.. They know they can sell my or any other car to anyone who walks through the door and thus, never indulge potential or new owners with The Porsche Passion. Don‘t know how you folks feel but its the sense of being just there to make up their numbers that infuriates me. Yes, I do want to be felt special and Yes , I want to indulged , for me its all part of the journey and I really wish they’d make it more of an experience rather than a transaction. So like you folks, I am still waiting- Good luck to you all and enjoy the experience when your pride sand joy arrives. BTW , trip was not a total waste of time. There is a beautiful GT3 R/S in the show room. The first I have seen in real life. The rear DRS wing is a lot bigger and to see the full blown aero on the chassis is just amazing- Wold I but one , no, but just to admire it was breathtaking for me.(:-) probably be back in the show room having done 300 miles in a couple months at a stratospheric mark up) Enjoy the bank holiday
