Rear Wiper

After a short erroneous yellow warning hiatus with my 991.1 TPM readings (now sorted), the Rear Wiper seems to have developed a mind of its own. With the stalk switch to OFF the wiper sometimes sweeps several times when the ignition is turned on, other times it just sweeps the once when the car is started and still in PARK. The handbook indicates the wiper should only sweep when selected on the stalk, or when selecting reverse (if the SETTINGS menu is to Automatic and not Manual). As the wiper is wiping on dry glass it is not good, so now leave the wiper arm off the glass when parked in the garage and put it back on when the car is started to avoid this. Possibly a software gremlin? Otherwise the wiper operates as advertised. Any thoughts and advice please.

To update and close my rear wiper problem as previously reported. After extensive testing and diagnostic checking by PC Exeter technicians, the fault was finally traced to the rear wiper motor control unit. When the ignition was switched on the control unit was sending erroneous signals to the wiper motor causing it to randomly sweep either once or continuous until the car was started when after one sweep it would stop and behave normally. a big thank you to PC Exeter for sorting this out for me with the bonus of it being covered under the warranty as well. Oh yes and the car passed its MOT with no advisories. So happiness reigns! [:)][:D]
