CD21 CD player

well after 22 years my CD21 unit is misbehaving. for a while now it keeps switching itself back on after I've turned the ignition off and I have to manually turn it off - sometimes 2 or 3 times before it surrenders, and now its refusing to play CDs - it seems to see the Cd and you can move from track to track but it just doesn't play. radio works fine. I dont have the CD changer option with it.

any experience on getting them repaired? quick look on line seems to show  some reconditioned ones out there at astronomic prices (1500 euro!) or I guess there is the Porsche classic modern replacement - again I think north of a grand. Preferred solution would be to keep a fully working CD21 not least as the car is 100% original but all thoughts or experiences gratefully received.
