R7 SUMMER DRIVE 2022

The R7 SUMMER DRIVE 2022.
Wednesday 13th July & Sunday 17th July.

The R7 Summer drive will be held on the above dates. We will be meeting at Porsche Centre Sheffield at 10:00 and aim to depart around 11:00.
Porsche Sheffield very kindly will put on a catering truck for both dates.
The routes will be similar to last year with two legs and a mid way stop over for refreshment's in the Holmfirth area. The mid stop is booked at the Carding shed, however due to extensive road works with an uncertain end date we may have to move the stop over elsewhere.
We will complete the drive just outside the Village of HOPE in Derbyshire at the Travellers Rest Pub, where we have booked tables for a late afternoon meal.
Please note that the Travellers have agreed to stay open for us on the Wednesday as they normally close after lunch.
Food at the Travellers will be to order at the bar.
Route guidance will be issued out at the start, however if anyone wants Google maps guidance that can be arranged.
We will have a number of short range radios for use as required.

Please let me have the following details by email to Chris Smith. r7touring@gmail.com
Names of Driver and navigator.
PCGB Membership number.
Model and registration of car used.
A mobile telephone number for emergency use only.
We also need to know if you are eating at the Travellers, especially for Wednesday as the chef is staying back for us.

All entrants should now have received a route plan in excel format and also a link to Google maps.

Is it too late to join the mid-week?
I'll probably not stay for the travellers as I've got something else on that evening and a bit of a trek back to Leeds.

Many thanks from Viv and I to Chris and Delia for organising a great day out. Life has returned to normal - lots of tasty pastries at Porsche Centre Sheffield, super support from Rachel and team there in greeting us and organising us to get going, splendid drive, brilliant weather and of course lovely to meet everyone and see their cars actually being used. Not forgetting the Carding Shed and the Travellers Rest of course. A very enjoyable day.

Chris & Delia, thank you for organizing such a great day out, Sally & I really enjoyed it, the drive out mostly , but the Scones from the Carding Shed seem to have left an indelible memory. Nice to meet some new friends as well, also you got the weather just right! Thank you.

Hi Chris,
I have just sent an email with my details. Hopefully not too late to join in tomorrow?
I will attending solo tomorrow as Mary is still in Sydney NSW helping with our new granddaughter.
I tested negative yesterday for the wretched Covid-19 after contracting the virus 12 days ago.
Hence the late notice.
Yours hopefully.
Derek Smith
PS if anyone fancies being a navigator I have a spare seat.....
