Richard_HamiltonAre you getting any sound if you play a CD?Do you have the 490 or 680 option? (Harman or Bose amplifier). If so, the problem is just as likely to be the amplifier.
Richard_HamiltonFor some reason the wiring diagrams show the 490 option as Harman, but either way, it could equally be the amp that is the problem. The fact that it has already been replaced is no indication that it is good. More often than not, it is the amp. However, the first thing I would do is check fuse D9, just in case it is blown. Difficult to know what to suggest without getting a diagnostic check done to see if it confirms what is wrong. A used amp would cost about £100 and might be all you need. As far as I know, there is no new plug & play head unit for the fibre optic CDR23. There are devices which convert the RCA outputs from a new head unit to fibre optic inputs for the amp, so that might be an option. (No use if the amp is kaput).
