993 C2 replacement suspension bushes

Hi all,
Have a 98,000 mile C2 Cab and following its service there are recommendations to replace many of the suspension bushes so I might as well go ahead and replace them all.
Anti roll bar bushes, rear camber arms, rear track rod control arms, lower rear wishbone ball joints, front wishbone bushes.

Question is, should I replace with standard Porsche parts or are there better upgrade kits and if so which ones are best ?

Thanks, Geoff

Geoff,
I suggest call or visit Christian Sanger (near Devizes) who recently re-built my suspension, which has transformed the car. He is an expert on these cars and suspension set up and is also the 993 Register technical advisor.
Chris

Genuine Porsche parts will be about £4000 for your list so maybe explore OEM/Aftermarket?

Thanks for both of those responses. I'm a little surprised about the suggest Porsche parts costs so Im hoping that's tongue in cheek but we will see. SCS Honiton usually do my work for me but I will investigate Christian Sanger also and see what the options and costs.

I replaced more than the bushes when my car was on about 70k. Had it done by Centre Gravity (who I was very happy with) but they recommended non-standard bushes (I believe called "polly bushes”) because they both last longer and perform better.

And of course you could specify shore 85? bushes via christian , unless you're frightened by NVH [8|]
and bodywork videiis
cheers, Maurice

my car selling this weekend .. at Collecting cars hopefully with this extra info from Car and Driver and bodywork videos

Maurice, your 993 looks excellent on Collecting Cars. I hope it goes well for you. But what’s the plan? What next? is this the end of your 993 adventure?

So, polly bushes. Suggestions that they are more durable, different more precise handling etc but what’s the down side? Are they more harsh, do they give more road noise? Does anyone regret fitting them?

Maurice,
I notice your red fan and also the service history with Christian Sanger. Did Christian do the red fan coating for you? Also do you have the before and after bhp figures re the fan colour change? ;)

Hi Geoff ,,

No, my local independent when I lived in Northamptonshire was a collection of farm buildings called Francis Tuthill .. more famous for rally cars then, of course.

No, I don't have a figure for that, I suspect it made absolutely diddly-squat more, depending on levels of imagination. If you wanted more horses, the deltetion of aircon and associated belt might help, except aircon is switched off by flooring yon throttle anyway. [8D]

Aux blower a little weight, balances engine room aesthetics .. [&o]

Re bushes, mine has RS shore hardness everywhere, including rear subframe. After CJ (Christian Sanger) took me out in his S after the 993 Seminar, I just had th have them, although he runs Ohlins shocks, I ruin B8 Bilsteins.

A couple of hours prior to auction end, I sent a heap more info including from Car & Driver, lots more info on individual mods, 2017 restoration job link, Lovett Spraymaster Video link etc.

Disappointingly not put up despite exchange of phone calls.

Cheers, [&:]Maurice[]

So far (I've done about 30k miles since having them fitted) I've not noticed a down-side, but maybe a new set of originals would have been just as good. Shocks were changed at same time, along with a full alignment so the exact effect of the polly bushes themselves is impossible to know.
