Spent a very pleasant day on display at the Lyn Valley Car Show yesterday https://www.lynvalleyclassic.co.uk/ . Everybody was very friendly and showed both interest and respect for the exhibits.

The event is based on the twin villages of Lynmouth and Lynton on the heritage coast of Exmoor National Park and has been running for 6 years now (except for the Covid period). Lynton stands above the harbour village of Lynmouth nestling beneath the cliffs and is connected by the water-powered funicular Cliff Railway (there's a road too!).

This annual event is run by a team of volunteers from local clubs and businesses who sponsor the running costs and much of the money raised goes to their chosen charities. Over £20,000 has been donated since 2015.

Of the 300 or so vehicles on display, there were just two 992's mine and one other owned by a local, non-member for the visitors to admire.

It occurs to me it would be good to get a few more of us there for next year and maybe we could do something as a Register - perhaps making it a worthwhile weekend by combining it with a visit to another attraction or having a day's drive. It's a great place for a weekend away and plenty of hotel accommodation in the area.

Let us know what you think. If there's enough interest, it may be worth putting it up as an event suggestion to the RS's.

Regards,

Clive
