New R18 Facebook group

For any member who missed their personalised R18 email yesterday... we said hello and:

"We bring you some great news. R18 is launching its own Facebook Group! This will be a platform to discuss Regional events, answer members’ questions, share photos, have a natter, and the main thing - discuss all things Porsche! This will be a closed Group that is open to Club members only, however we welcome all PCGB members from any Region.

This won’t be replacing our current Facebook Page that has all our events on. It’ll run alongside this, and this will continue to be updated. After discussions with members, feedback was that we needed a closed platform, where information can be easily accessed.

[FONT=arial, helvetica neue, helvetica, sans-serif"]To join the group, you will require your PCGB membership number and you need to visit us here https://www.facebook.com/groups/pcgbr18group [FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Please answer all the questions to join, if you fail to do so, unfortunately your request to join will be denied.

After doing so, your request will be then approved by our friendly admin team. Please post a photo of your pride and joy when you are approved so we can welcome you to the group and see what lovely cars we’ve got in the Region.

For those of you that don’t use Facebook, not to worry - the monthly newsletter and the PCGB website will still be updated with news, events and photos.

[FONT=arial, helvetica neue, helvetica, sans-serif"]Lastly, we’ve gone all out. We’re now on Instagram too! Please give us a follow. You can search for us on Instagram under the username ‘pcgb.r18’ or follow the link, click here: https://www.instagram.com/accounts/login/?next=/pcgb.r18/ [FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Tag us in any photos of your Porsche, or any Club events you are attending. We’ll be posting photos of all Club events and more!

We look forward to seeing you in the Facebook group."

Huge thanks to George at the Clubhouse and to our regional concours prize winner Matthew McGavock for making this all happen and also to David Baker for supporting these initiatives. Thanks also to all members who have embraced the new Facebook group already.

Finally, Matthew has gone to a lot of trouble to update our Club website page. If you haven't viewed it in a while, prepare to be impressed and take a look here: https://www.porscheclubgb.com/regions-registers/regions/north-west/lancashire

For those that prefer real life meetings to online activities, we have the usual eclectic mix of vehicles at Farmyard Ales this evening, Supercar Showtime at Hoghton Tower on Sunday, live Porsche racing at Oulton Park is also on this weekend (supporting the Touring cars). Club night is next Wednesday, Classic Cars at Wray next Thursday, and the week after that, many of us are joining R22 for their prestigious concours event at Porsche Centre South Lakes on Saturday 25th. Sunday 26th sees one of Chris Bird's fabulous drives out which follows the coffee and open morning at Jasmine Porscha-Link. Not bad!

The week after that, local legends Team Mangetout Racing, or at least some of them, may just be enjoying a long overdue return trip to the Le Mans Classic... [:D]

See you out on the road!

Don't think I could have summed it up better, thanks Rob [:)]

Look forward to seeing new faces in the Facebook Group. I'll be keeping the website updated and news posts will showcase some of our events we run/host.

My pleasure!

With 91 members already, the new group has got off to a great start. So nice to see new members participating and posting some great pictures of cars I'd not seen before locally.

Thanks again for driving this forwards.
