I changed my own battery and the world didn’t end

Having read many stories of resets being required after battery changes I decided to risk it. For the record I changed the fitted (2015!) Bosch S4 010 for a Bosch S5 010.

On start up I saw a few error messages associated with the Sports modes and couldn’t select them but once I drove off I found that normal service was restored.

I thought that others might find this useful - even if it isn’t a guarantee.

Same here from two years ago when I parked my 997 up at the start of lockdown and forgot to unplug the dash cam. 2 months later the battery was beyond redemption despite the efforts of the AA. Replaced with equivalent Bosch and after only a hundred yards the errors had cleared and all has been well since. And I have never forgotten to unplug the dash cam again.
