How to find build date

I am curious to discover the build date of my 987.
I was going to order the original build sheet as I thought that was a member privilege, but have discovered that Porsche no longer offer the service . Is there another way of finding out out more info about my car ?

A friendly OPC service dept should be able to tell you and indeed print the original build record. Or try one of the VIN decoders available on the Internet for a small charge.

Hi.

I used vinanalytics (www.vinanalytics.com) to get my build sheet. Very nicely formatted result and more readable than the output I got from OPC Makes a nice addition to the car file.

That sounds good - are you able to do a pic of what you get please ? Block your vin if concerned

Attached - I redacted VIN and engine and gearbox serial numbers - otherwise it's as I got it - interesting one for me, is the Z options - the 09971 code - which is (factory special order) that tallies with the options listed in the sticker in the handbook - but never appeared on the info the seller got from the OPC - still not quote worked out which "exclusiv" option i got but it was good info.

Glad I found this thread! I just bought a mint 2002 986s that had one owner and 28K on the clock. File is very complete, but this report makes a great addition - Ive downloaded mine!
