My GT Silver 992 GTS has arrived.

Excellent, Huw. They must love you at Cardiff OPC!
Quite the stealthy look with the black accents.

Not white, Huw - that is a shock! :ROFLMAO:
Looks lovely though, congratulations. Just right time of year to be taking delivery too.
Regards,

Clive

A great looking car and congratulations on the latest arrival.

Stephen.

Wow Huw - you change cars more than I change socks!! [:D]

Great choice of colour!!
Sure not, I must say the GTS is quite different to the 992S car to drive.

Do tell more, in what respects is it different to the 992 Carrera S?

Firstly, inside the cab with the sports exhaust on it is a lot noisier, reminds me of the 991S, although I am not sure how it sounds outside. The ride is a lot firmer, I optioned the sports suspension, I don’t regret this. I do like the PCM 6, an improvement to the PCM 5. I have not completed a good drive yet, but will in the next few days.

I loved both the 992S I have had, but this GTS feels a lot more like a sports car.

Morning,

Yes, a lot of this makes sense then. Porsche have removed some insulation in the GTS to increase the exhaust & induction noise into the cabin, on the outside my dealer tells me there are more crackles and pops in Sport mode compared to a C2S/4S with the Sports Exhaust.

Ride is supposed to be firmer as it has the 'Turbo spec' suspension with the helper springs, although the helper springs are supposed to make the car more compliant. The GTS comes with Sports PASM (-10mm) as standard, one would have to 'un-tick' it if they didn't want it. Is that what you mean or did you also spec PDCC?

You have received your car in good time and can enjoy all the nice weather coming. I still have circa 3 months to go till mine arrives! ??

I just went for the—10mm checked. I did not go for the PDCC or the RWS this time. I felt I do not need them.
I had a good drive yesterday to Cardigan bay and then returned through LLandovery and the Brecon Beacons back to Cardiff.

I drove quite hard on the returned journey and she certainly shifts. Correct in what you are saying, in sports exhaust and in sports mode you do get a lots of crackle and pops.

It certainly a more bumpy ride than the 992S was.

I was surprised I managed 30mpg for the overall journey.

Hi Huw, I have a few days in South Wales planned in September before going over to Ireland. Are there some good routes you could recommend in that area?

Thanks, Simon

Hi Huw,
I think that your GTS looks fabulous in GT silver and look forward to seeing it in the metal at some point. Your comments on how it compares to the S are really interesting, I have always felt that the GTS was the ideal 911 as a useable every day sports car.
Whilst my 992 C2S was extremely capable and was incredibly fast, it always felt to me more like a grand tourer than a sports car, which is why I changed it for a GT4.
From your comments so far, It sounds like they have got the GTS spot on in that regard and I am interested to hear your thoughts once you have done some more miles in the car.
