997 drivers window keeps moving up and down

I recently bought a 2006 97 C4S in Iris Blue which I’m very happy with. One slightly annoying trait it has is that when the driver’s door is left open sometimes the window jumps up and down. Have any members had this issue before and been able to resolve? Is it a case of doing the window reset and does the battery have to be removed and reconnected for the reset to take effect? Many thanks in advance for any help!

Hi,
It could be the case that you need to reset the upper and lower limits on your window and you do not need to disconnect the battery.
to reset window limits as follows:
1. ensure the door is shut
2. hold the down button until window is fully open and continue to hold the down button for a further 10 seconds
3. hold the up button until window is fully closed and continue to hold the up button for a further 10 seconds
4. process completed
5. when you pull the door handle the window should drop a little before the door opens.
if the problem persists you may need to replace the window regulator
hope this helps

Cheers Chips, will try that and maybe also try to disconnect the the battery and run that process also if it won’t work

It could be the switch in the door handle if it just moves up and down a little bit at the closed position when the door is open. There ais a switch that wears, its purpose is to drop the window when you open and close the door and then back up to seal when closed.
