Hello,
My user name is Royze-Boyze, Roy, I am a new member (152002) I have a 964 Cab auto and I am looking for a windstop. I wonder if any member has had experience with the German ones in the region of £139, I think you can take a bolt out both sides and then it rotates. They look good in the ad, they fold down and can stay up when the hood is raised and lowered. The Porsche ones are a tad expensive at over £1000. I have seven classic cars, my preference is a 500SL Merc, that has a windstop that works really well. I have wasted a lot of time getting on to this site as it is very slow in picking up.

Hi Roy

Congrats and lets hear more about your car. Good luck uploading a picture !

I cant answer your question but am interested too as i am getting a 964 Cab soon as well. Have a look at the Rennlist 964 forum as well for a very active community and a wealth of info.

With an aftermarket wind stop, check the fitting instructions carefully before deciding to purchase. When I bought my 968 cab I also searched for a windstop, the aftermarket ones needed about 1" diammeter holes very carefully and accurately drilled in the rear quarter panels for fitting, whereas the Porsche one fitted into the existing holes (just remove the plastic covers) where you access the raising and lowering bolts for emergency closing and opening of the roof when the electrics for some reason will not work. 10 years ago (when I bought the windstop) the Porsche one was about £100 more than the aftermarket ones, and that's what I bought.
