Hi all. This must have been asked many times so apologies but would appreciate some advice.
I have a 2006 997 turbo manual with a multifunction steering wheel which I think is awful and really spoils what is a very nice interior. I want to fit a modern three spoke multifunction wheel with the much smaller round airbag but do not know which one to buy. So, which wheel and where to buy one complete with an air bag.
Many thanks.

From what I understand, steering wheels from 997.2 and 991 will fit. I have also been looking for a while to get one for the right price and I have just picked one up. You can source on ebay for secondhand wheels. You can find the steering wheel you like and buy the airbag from OPC or other provider. A lot of the steering wheels are for PDK sp tougher to find for manual - luckily I found one on one of the FB groups.

Great answer Chris. I too believe that they are interchangeable, but you have multifunction steering wheel controls so you may need to get someone specialist to make it all work correctly with the electrics. If you google changing the wheel it seems a common modification in the US, but not sure of who can sort it in the UK.
New steering wheels are available from Design 911, or a used one can be picked up on Ebay or from a Porsche breaker (try 9Apart in Bury). If you have a black interior it may be a lot easier than any other colour!
