Battery charger

I am in the process of acquiring a Macan Turbo with the Audi v6 engine.
My 992 really needed a trickle charger
to keep the lithium battery happy .
Is the Macan similar if not in frequent use?

I think you'll need a lead/acid charger for your Macan (unless yours is dual use).

Most later models do not appear to have continuously live power sockets when the ignition is off, so you may need to use crocodile clips for direct connection within the engine compartment. If you have a Ctek charger, removing the insulation sleeves from the positive clip will provide a bit more clearance to enable bonnet closure.

Clive

Thanks for the advice
I am hoping the procedure for keeping the 12v socket live on the 992 will work
on the Macan. I need to change from a lithium CT charger

I use a CTEK MXS5 battery charger to keep my Glass Mat battery on my 2017 Macan S charged, if it is stood for some time. I connect via the cigarette lighter socket in the car or boot, which if you connect quickly stays live. Plenty of give in the door seals to accommodate the lead so you can lock the car.

I use a CTEK MXS5 battery charger to keep my Macan's GSM battery on my 2019 Macan S charged when in the garage. I connect via the posts under the bonnet. I find the marginal electrical facilities like comfort access and auto stop start operate far more reliably than if I leave the car off charger.
