Queries from a 2015 S-e hybrid new owner

Posting this on behalf of a recent new owner and wondering if anyone out there can share any experiences / solutions.

I recently bought a 2015 Panamera S e-hybrid. I'm having trouble with some of the settings. One of them being, setting the charge timer so that the car is fully charged for the time I'd like to leave in the morning plus setting the heating so that the car interior is at the temperature that I require when I get to the car.

How useful is the Porsche connect? I'm seeing mixed reviews about this. At the moment, I'm not convinced that the labour charge by Porsche to link the code to link my car to the App is worth it. It may be that I don't fully understand the usefulness of having the Connect App!

Finally, I tend to use Google Maps when I'm driving (I find it the most accurate and up to date). Problem is that the verbal instructions from my phone cannot be heard on the phone once my phone connects to the car. Instead, to hear the directions, I have to select the AUX (BT) option. In my previous cars (not Porsche) I could listen to the verbal directions via the car's entertainment unit or via the phone's own speaker. Having to use the AUX (BT) option means that I cannot listen to the radio, CD, or USB selection whilst being able to hear the directions. Hope that makes sense!
