Meeting at The Balloon Tree Farmshop & Cafe, Stamford Bridge Rd, YO41 1NB

The cafe has generously offered to open early for us at 8:00am, serving breakfast from 8:15am

from the Balloon Tree we set off on a leisurely scenic drive through the Yorkshire Wolds.

The breakfast menu is varied at the Balloon Tree, posted details in comments.

This drive takes us to Hunmanby Grange via some of the sinuous lanes in the beautiful Wolds valleys, the route should take around ninety minutes, arriving at our first destination, the Wold Top Brewery before 12:00, the address is Hunmanby Rd, Hunmanby, Driffield YO25 3HS, we have a midday tour of the manufacturing facility and taste of their products. The tour will start at the Brewery at 12:00 midday with the chance to see how their award-winning beers are made, how the beginning process of whisky making is done, followed by, you guessed it, a tasting of the award-winning beers!

We then take a short drive to the brewery's sister company, The Spirit of Yorkshire located in Hunmanby, address: Hunmanby Industrial Estate, The Distillery, Unit 1, Hunmanby, Filey YO14 0PH
Please enter the gates and proceed to the rear and right where there is ample parking behind the premises.
At the distillery, you will find out all about the intricate details of the whisky-making process and gain a full understanding as to what makes the Spirit of Yorkshire so unique in its distilling process.

We are finishing off the day with afternoon tea in the Potstill Cafe.
Provenance is really important to our Afternoon Tea – we want it to be a true 'Yorkshire' experience and so we use our favourite local producers wherever possible. Eggs come from a farm in Burton Fleming, our neighbouring village; our milk is from St. Quintin's Creamery in nearby Harpham; and ham comes from Trotters Farm Shop in Sherburn.

We look a little further afield for a coffee, using Darkwoods in Huddersfield because we really like their philosophy, and of course, we use Yorkshire Tea because we love it ourselves, and because we have a good working relationship with Taylors of Harrogate, who we partner with to make a barrel-aged coffee as part of their 'Discovery' range.

Last but never least, our cheese comes from the home of cheese: Wensleydale, in the Yorkshire Dales.

Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

The tours have been arranged solely for PCGB and are around three hours in total, the cost for both tours and afternoon tea will be £35pp.

We do need details as soon as possible, if we have a good response it may require exclusive use of the Potstill cafe, we will need to give them notice to allow closing to the public that afternoon.

If you do not want to take the distillery tour, that is an option, although we are trying to keep this as simple as possible.

We have space for a maximum of fifty people on the distillery tour which would be in two groups, if you wish to partake, please register your interest below and send the usual details as below to: r7eastriding@gmail.com
