Hello from the new kid on the block ..997.2

Picked up my car 3 weeks ago. 1st thing I did was to get it back to stock.
991 oversized wheels off
Black windows gone
Wheels refreshed, new tyres and balanced
Machine polish
Interior full leather cream treatment

Its feeling the love, meeting a guy tomorrow to discuss ceramic coating, looked at PPF front wrap and ceramic, he wanted over 2k, his work was impressive, however, given I just paid for this upfront after saving up, another 2k seems a lot looking at by bank balance post Porsche spend lol

Let me know what you think, stock or pimped up?

Hi, Nice Car :) I would say Stock, I'm not against modifying, however in this case the car looks better as nature intended :)

Ps - are your callipers blue or is it just the photo ?

I couldn't agree more, they were nice wheels, but compromised the ride, felt all wrong.

The previous owner also had the calipers painted blue, I didn't like them at the start, but have grown on me. I'll dig out a picture.

Let me know what you think......

Love the car and definitely agree with the stock look. Just picked up my 997.1 on Saturday and got a mobile detailer booked in for 07/02 to sort out paint correction and ceramic coating.

Awesome, like me, bet you can't wait for the summer.
what sort of cost is he looking to charge for that, trying to get an idea.

I know there seems to be a lot of variables on coating.

This is one price I had from one local guy.....

He sent..........
few options below.
Modesta is our main coating, expensive but the best money can buy. I’ll break all the packages and options down as per conversation.

This is the initial detail, all elements below are carried out before any package we undertake.
  • Full deep clean
  • Decontamination
  • Paint readings
  • Machine polish
  • Cleanse
  • Coating/PPF
  • Heat cure – coating application only
Total for the Porsche Total: £400 this is day and a half to carry out (not PPF)

Whole car, Modesta P1 Primer and Modesta BC05 + £500, 7 years +
Whole car, Gtechniq Crystal serum + £300, years +

Front end application PPF £1600 – wrapped edges (seamless fit can be undertaken at extra cost)
Front end application, + seals £2000 – wrapped edges (seamless fit can be undertaken at extra cost)

Bonnet only £500 – fully wrapped no corners showing
Bumper only £550 – wrapped where possible (seamless fit can be undertaken at extra cost)

We would use the coating for the paint on the PPF to keep the costs down, BC05 and Gtechniq can be used on both. Hence we have used them in the quote

Wheels
£250 - Modesta, spray applied

agreed on a deal today, 600 cash, seemed like a top bloke, full unit set up, 4 Year guarantee (forget the brand name of the ceramic), inc al the normal paint correct, machine polishing etc, just waiting for a slot - excited!
100% won't tell the wife I am spending 600 after just buying the car lol - maybe £50 ;-)

will keep you posted, my Chipex came today, will sort the stone chips, seems a good option

this is the stuff:
Zirconite UK 4 year ceramic coating[/h1]
