New My Porsche App versus old Connect App Comparison = My Porsche not ready for Market

After receiving Porsche's email last week re the new "My Porsche" App I downloaded it and have to say am massively disappointed as the "My Porsche" app is sadly lacking lots of functionality compared to the old Connect App

To date, only after a cursory comparison I can see the functionality currently in Connect App which is missing from My Porsche (for my Cayenne Hybrid MY2020)

* No Flash Headlights (to find in car park)
* No Sound Horn (to find in car park)
* No Ability to select / edit which seats & their temps which are heated when using preheat function
* Info displayed in Trip Data is massively reduced in My Porsche - only displaying the last Hybrid combined data for "since start" (of last trip), "since refueling" and "total" (all car life) .. Connect App also displayed data historically (click on bar charts and the detailed data would be displayed) with data visible for every trip , "since fuelling" ie stats for every tank of petrol and also a annual summary under "since".. This data was really useful as it allowed me to use the EV side of the vehicle to maximum
* No ability to display predicted range (both hybrid combined and EV only) on the map
* No ability to edit or use charging timers
* No display of Tyre Pressures
* No record of pairing code
* Only allows Alarms for Speed or location .. No ability for setting the "valet alarm" (simple on/off alarm based on combined speed / location changing)
* No Real time Traffic info on Map (explore option)
* No History record of alarms (location, speed, Valet)
* No historical display of use of lock / unlock via app or Car Alarm being triggered or Horn/Flashers "find me" in App being used

As these apps are now used for pretty much most modern Porsche Models (718 from 2016 : 911, Panamera, Cayenne from 2017 : Macan & Taycan from Launch), the My Porsche App seems a very not ready for prime time App

From some of the Taycan forums "missing" functionality also includes a lot of the charging planning functionality, rendering it close to useless for these owners

I’m with you on this. My wife has a newer phone to me so is able to download the newest app which as you point out is very limited

i have an old phone with the old app and I have to use that to set the charging timer for our E Hybrid. So much easier to sit in my lounge and set the timer, go outside and plug the charge cable in and then know it will be ready in the morning

with the new app, as the timer is not available we have to go and sit in the car, start the ignition, select the timer on the PCM and then go and plug it in. How is that progress

apart from that and the trip information which is useful, I don’t really use much else to be honest. Knowing the petrol range is handy but we visit the petrol station so much less frequently than we used to with the Macan. Quite handy the way fuel prices are going !!!
