Dear R3 Members, we had a wonderful evening on Saturday night and despite the relatively high Covid infection rates in the North East most members were able to attend as planned.

It was wonderful once again to have so many friends together to reflect on 2021 activities to recognise and thank those who went that extra mile to ensure we all the opportunity to enjoy our cars in 2021. Our award winners for 2021 were:

[ul][*]Spirit of R3: Paul Gabbitus[*]R3 Members of the Year: John Hallworth and Gillian Lewis[*]Outstanding Support Medals (a new recognition award this year): David and Karen Bradford, Mike and Barbara Walden, Angela and Andy Reid and Simon Walker[/ul]Please join us in congratulating all our worthy winners, thank you for all you did in 2021.

Looking forward to another great year in 2022!

Best wishes - Philip and Jacquie

Thank you for the award - it made the year very special.

But I still maintain, R3 deserve the award - what a fabulous group of people!

Had a terrific night - thanks to all those involved in organisation - brilliant.

Just like to echo some of the comments here, the award was completely unexpected, but just pleased that members have enjoyed the events organised this year - in which we played a small part.

Greatest thanks clearly go to Philip and Jacquie for managing to arrange such a fantastic variety of experiences during such trying times. Including the most recent post-Christmas bash, which we both thoroughly enjoyed.

Here's to more of the R3 spirit throughout 2022!

Drive safe

John & Gillian
