sunroof problem

Hi
i have a problem with the sunroof it no longer tilts or opens. I can hear the motor turning and the cable just coils up in the boot. I have had a look and it is not the plastic wheels in mechanism. Any ideas.

You're looking at the wrong end, you need to pull back the carpet lining of the rear NS of the boot area so you can see the motor assembly, that's the scene of the crime. Had a similar problem with my coupe many years ago, can't remember exactly the rpoblem and cure!

The lock tube on the motor that guides the cable through the micro switches has either popped out or broken
